The Panel found several mitigating factors that reduced the presumptive sanction of suspension to disciplinary probation. The student took proactive steps to remedying the wrong as well as several characer witnesses. |

The panel took the testimony of the student, professor, and student whose paper was used here and found no reason to not accept the student's plea of responsible. The Panel issued sanctions according to the sanctioning matrix; the student appealed and the appeal merit panel found the student's ground for appeal to be without merit. |

The student was believed to have lied during a conversation with the professor, but the panel failed to find beyond all reasonable doubt that the student intended to decieve the professor during their conversation. |

In assigning secondary sanctions, the Panel found it necessary to limit the student's courseload as it found the stressors involved in the incident stemming from a heavy courseload. |

| The student was accused of stealing a cookie from the Aromas in Swem Library. Panel considered the testimony of two members of the Dean of Student's Office, the Aromas manager, and the student. The Panel also considered a video recording that was without sound. The panel concluded it could not determine beyond all reasonable doubt that the student intended to take an additional cookie without paying for it. |
